Booking FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is a performance contract needed? A contract provides a written understanding of exactly what time we are to perform, where, what we will need to wear, the agreed upon price, and any other details. This way there is no misunderstanding as to when and how long we are playing, and everything is clear prior to the performance.
Is our deposit refundable? No. The deposit guarantees your performance date. We have blocked out time on our schedules for your event, and if you cancel, we usually are unable to re-book that time.
What if we book you outside, and we get weathered (rained) out? The deposit in non-refundable; it reserves your date (see above). If the event is canceled after we arrive due to the weather, then we keep the entire amount. This is because we have already spent significant time and effort to load and cart our equipment, prepare for your particular event, and drive to the event.
What does the band need to setup? We typically only need an AC outlet within 20 feet or so of where we’ll be performing. The AC power must be properly wired (i.e. meets building Codes, with safe grounding), so that our sound equipment doesn’t get damaged.
How much space does the band need? For a solo or duo performance, very little space is needed. Performing as a solo or duo with our Bose sound system, for example, we need a minimum of about five feet by five feet. On the other hand, our five-piece group has a fairly large sound system, a full drum set, and several vocal microphones, so a minimum of about 15 by 5 feet is needed. If you are concerned if you have enough space, be sure to let us know ahead of time!
How early will the performers arrive? Usually we will arrive about 30 to 60 minutes prior to our performance. With high visibility special events, or depending upon what time we are actually starting, we may need to make a special trip (extra fees required) several hours early so that we aren’t setting up as guests arrive.
Can we request that specific tunes be played? Absolutely. If you let us know well ahead (two weeks at least) of the performance, we usually will have time to learn the tunes if we don’t know them. If you ask us at the performance, we will do our best to play them if all the band members already know the tune.
